Dr. Michael Munene
Chief Executive Officer, National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD)
Dr. Michael Munene, PhD, is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), where he provides strategic leadership in the promotion, protection, and advancement of the rights and socio-economic inclusion of persons with disabilities in Kenya. With over 18 years of senior-level experience across the public sector, academia, and international research, Dr. Munene is an expert in disability mainstreaming, inclusive public policy, and institutional governance. He holds a PhD in Universal Design, a Master's in Sustainable Design, and a First Class Honours degree in Universal Interior Design from the University of Nairobi. Before becoming CEO, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee at NCPWD (2022–2025), where he was instrumental in strengthening institutional accountability and formulating the National Disability Policy and the NCPWD Strategic Plan (2023–2027). As a registered person with a hearing disability and a nationally recognized inclusion champion, Dr. Munene's leadership is deeply rooted in lived experience and a commitment to systemic change. He is the recipient of the 2023 DIAR Award for PWD Inclusion Champion and has led significant international research on accessible public transport and inclusive built environments, supported by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations. His work is firmly anchored in the implementation of Article 54 of the Constitution of Kenya, Kenya Vision 2030, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and disability Act 2025. Dr. Munene is dedicated to enhancing service delivery, strengthening institutional effectiveness, and ensuring that persons with disabilities achieve full and equal participation in Kenya's social, economic, and political landscape.

Mr. Harun M. Hassan, EBS
Commissioner, Public Service Commission
Commissioner at the Public Service Commission and immediate former CEO of NCPWD. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University. He is also the author of Behind the Wheels: Changing the Disability Narrative.

Hon. Sen. Dr. Isaac M. Mwaura
Government Spokesperson of Kenya
Government Spokesperson of Kenya with academic training in development studies, social and public policy, special needs education, public relations management, and theology. He holds master's degrees from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and the University of Leeds, alongside further qualifications from Kenyatta University, the Kenya Institute of Management, and the Presbyterian University of East Africa.

Hon. Sen. Crystal Asige
Nominated Senator Representing Persons with Disabilities and Special Interest Groups
Nominated Senator representing persons with disabilities and special interest groups, Secretary General of the Kenya Disabled Parliamentarians Association, and Chairperson for Persons with Disabilities in the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association. She is also an award-winning musician, DEI consultant, disability rights advocate, inclusive mobility practitioner, and public speaker. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Film Studies and Drama from the University of the West of England, Bristol.

Hon. Ole Sankok David
Member of Parliament, EALA
Member of Parliament in the East African Legislative Assembly and former nominated MP representing persons with disabilities in the National Assembly of Kenya. He is a disability rights advocate, former chairman of NCPWD, and holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of April and a Diploma in Medical Research from Bergeon University, Norway.

Mr. Joseph Mogosi Motari
Principal Secretary, Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs
Principal Secretary for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and a seasoned career civil servant. He has previously served in senior administration roles in the Ministry of Education and the State Department for Gender, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Kenyatta University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Moi University.

H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa, OGW
Governor, Kakamega County, Republic of Kenya
Governor of Kakamega County and Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration, and a PhD in Public Policy and Management from Kenyatta University.

Mr. CPA Benjamin Kai Chilumo
Chief Executive Officer, Huduma Kenya
Chief Executive Officer of Huduma Kenya with deep expertise in budget management, resource mobilization, change management, strategic planning, and project execution. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Moi University, and is CPA certified.

Ms. Mary Mwiti, EBS
CEO, Council of Governors
Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Governors with expertise in consultancy and corporate governance. She holds a Master's degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from JKUAT, is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management in Kenya, and serves on several boards including the National Irrigation Authority Board and Affordable Housing Board.

Prof. Charles Ochieng' Ong'ondo
CEO, Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD)
Chief Executive Officer of KICD, associate professor in teacher education, and Commonwealth Academic Fellow and Scholar. His academic background includes a postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Warwick, a PhD from the University of Leeds, an M.Phil. and B.Ed. from Moi University, and a Diploma in Education from Siriba Teachers College. His interests span research methodology, teacher education, English language pedagogy, curriculum design, training of trainers, academic writing, and organizational communication.

Ms. Ashura Michael
Inclusion Associate & Unpaid Care Programme Manager | UNDP Kenya
A distinguished programme and policy specialist with over ten years of experience in programme management, gender equality, disability inclusion, and policy advocacy. She has shown outstanding leadership in coordinating the UN Disability Inclusion Programme and the UN Joint Programme on Unpaid Care, advancing disability and gender transformative approaches that have yielded significant impact. Her previous roles include serving with the International Disability Alliance and the World Federation of the Deaf. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor's degree in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Nairobi.

Ms. Sally Nduta
Chief Executive Officer, United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK)
Chief Executive Officer of UDPK, disability inclusion advocate, and specialist in capacity development for organizations of persons with disabilities. Her work centers on mainstreaming disability inclusion and strengthening advocacy across the sector.

With 25 years of transformative leadership experience across public benefit organizations, David is a respected authority in strengthening systems for equity and inclusion through multi‑sector and public–private partnerships. A social scientist and organizational development practitioner, David plays a catalytic role in the design and delivery of integrated, disability inclusive programmes across health, education, humanitarian action, livelihoods, advocacy, and behavior change communication. As a thought leader, David is deeply committed to working in partnership to deliver meaningful and sustainable impact for persons with disabilities.

Mr. Bernard Chiira

He is an expert in startup innovation and development support, with training from Strathmore University, Stanford Center for Professional Development, and the GIC iX venture development instructor program.
